Bridge Concussion is an academic project developed as part of graduate research and is designed to explore how AI-assisted tools may help users navigate publicly available information related to concussions and traumatic brain injury (TBI).

Important Notice: This platform is not a medical service and does not collect, store, or use personal health information for diagnostic or clinical purposes.

1. Information We Collect

Bridge Concussion may collect the following types of information:

  • Voluntarily shared text input: Any messages or questions you type into the AI interface.

  • Basic usage data: Non-identifying analytics provided through the hosting platform (e.g., general traffic patterns, engagement levels).

  • Survey responses: If you choose to participate in the voluntary feedback survey, your responses will be used solely for academic research and improvement of the platform.

Note: No sensitive personal data (such as medical history, diagnoses, or contact information) is required or intentionally collected.

2. How Your Information Is Used

Information entered into the AI interface or feedback forms may be used for:

  • Academic research: Analysis and evaluation of the user experience.

  • Platform improvement: Enhancing the design, usability, and accuracy of the AI-assisted dashboard.

  • Health literacy analysis: Understanding how users navigate concussion-related information.

All research use is non-commercial and conducted in an academic setting.

3. Use of AI and Third-Party Services

The AI responses on this platform are generated through Google’s AI Studio, Gemini, and Vertex AI systems. By interacting with the AI, you understand that:

  • Your inputs may be processed by Google’s secure AI infrastructure.

  • AI-generated information may be incomplete, inaccurate, or outdated.

  • The system is not a substitute for professional medical evaluation or emergency help.

Please review Google’s Terms of Service and Privacy Policy for additional information about how AI-generated content and data are handled on their backend.

4. Emergency Guide and Safety Mode

To promote user safety, the Bridge Concussion front-end includes an Emergency Guide and a Safety Mode.

  • These features activate automatically in the event that emergency-related language is detected.

  • Privacy Assurance: No personal information or input data is shared with or retained by Bridge Concussion as a result of using these emergency modes and guides.

5. Data Security

Bridge Concussion does not maintain its own database of user identities or store personal conversation logs beyond what is standard in the hosting platform’s analytics tools. No medical or identifying information is intentionally retained.

6. Academic Purpose

Bridge Concussion is a graduate-level academic research project. Its primary purpose is to study how AI can support health literacy, accessibility, and the overall user experience for TBI-related resources.

7. Your Choices

As a user, you retain full control over your participation. You may choose:

  • Not to use the AI interface.

  • Not to submit feedback or survey responses.

  • To close the browser window and end your session at any time.
